Common questions before getting started.
Answers about free screenings, private-pay speech therapy, assessments, packages, superbills, HSA/FSA use, child therapy, adult therapy, and in-home sessions.
What happens during the free screening?
The free 15-minute screening is a short conversation to discuss your concerns and possible next steps. It is not a formal evaluation, diagnosis, or treatment session.
Do I need an assessment before therapy?
Some clients need a speech therapy evaluation before beginning treatment. Others may be able to start with therapy if they have a recent evaluation, IEP, therapy report, or medical documentation that can guide the plan.
How do therapy packages work?
Packages provide a reduced per-session rate for families or adult clients who are ready to begin ongoing therapy. Package recommendations depend on needs, goals, and available records.
Is this practice private pay?
Yes. Complete Communication Care is a private-pay speech therapy practice. Payment is made directly by the client or family.
Do you provide superbills?
Superbills may be provided upon request for possible out-of-network reimbursement. Reimbursement is not guaranteed and depends on your insurance plan.
Can I use HSA or FSA funds?
HSA/FSA funds may be used for eligible services depending on your plan requirements. Please check with your plan administrator if you are unsure.
Are payment plans available?
Payment plans may be available. This can be discussed before services begin.
How is private speech therapy different from school speech therapy?
School speech therapy is based on educational eligibility and school impact. Private speech therapy can focus more directly on individualized communication goals, family priorities, functional carryover, and additional support outside of school services.
Do you work with children?
Yes. Child speech therapy may support speech clarity, language, school communication, stuttering, AAC, and functional communication.
Do you work with adults?
Yes. Adult communication therapy may support aphasia, cognitive-communication, motor speech, Parkinson’s communication, AAC, caregiver coaching, and communication changes related to medical or neurological conditions.
Do you offer in-home sessions?
In-home sessions may be available in Carson City, Reno, and Sparks depending on scheduling and location. In-home add-on fees apply.
Is teletherapy available?
Teletherapy availability may depend on the client’s needs, location, goals, and whether virtual services are clinically appropriate.
